About Us

Hello & thank you for visiting our site! Our names are Cristian Cabrera & Kelvin Hernandez and we are an Afro-Latino Queer couple from Massachusetts, USA. 

We started CK x Design (pronounced C K by Design) as a way to kickstart our dream of building an almost all-encompassing brand of things we love. From clothing, to home goods, to food, to our love of talking, we aim to offer you a complete online experience where you can not only shop our creative collections but learn & laugh with us. 

Before we started CK x Design, our lives looked a little bit different (actually A LOT different). Originally from Massachusetts but currently living in The Netherlands (more on that later..), Cristian worked as a Customer Service professional managing & building departments for businesses large and small. Kelvin worked as a highly skilled nail technician, known well for his techniques in hand drawn designs & nail care. 

After a trip to Europe in the spring of 2022, we fell in love with The Netherlands as well as the romantic idea of leaving the USA behind to move to Europe. And that is exactly what we did! In October of 2022, we packed our bags and moved to The Netherlands to live out our dream. In order to bring you are product offering & shipping around the world, we have partnered with the company Printful for their product & fulfillment services. We use our talents to create designs we think you will enjoy, apply them to high quality products we know our customers will love, and work with Printful to get those items made to order when you purchase from our site. This helps us to offer products we believe in while also reducing the risk of waste. 

Over time, we will offer all kinds of products with designs inspired by holidays, cultural or social events, pop culture, humor, and much more. Our ideas are endless, so remember to check back often as you never know what we will be offering next!

Apart from offering you products to shop for, we will also use ckxdesign.com to share episodes of our upcoming podcast titled, ‘It Was Capitalism All Along’, soon to be made available on Apple Podcasts & other platforms. Once live, we will link the show here. 

We also have plans to share with you our favorite recipes to cook at home, led by our in-house chef aka Kelvin. Kelvin has had a love of being in the kitchen & whipping up delicious meals for many years, drawing on the flavors and traditions from our Latino background while adding his own special twists.
